~ Derek Innes
I didn’t set out to teach clarity, energy, or positivity.
I was trying to survive mental overload without becoming cynical, burnt out, or fake.
For most of my adult life, I’ve been capable, curious, and driven—but constantly drained. Not because I lacked discipline, but because the world rewards noise, urgency, and performance while ignoring energy, boundaries, and structure. I kept seeing the same pattern in myself and others: smart people drowning in decisions, expectations, and constant stimulation.
The advice available didn’t help.
Hustle culture told me to push harder.
Toxic positivity told me to feel better without changing anything. Neither worked.
What did work was stepping back and building systems—simple rules for how I think, work, protect my energy, and decide what actually matters. Not rigid routines. Not motivation. Practical structures that reduced mental load and made progress sustainable.
At the same time, I noticed something else: people don’t change when they’re preached at—but they do change when defensiveness drops. Humor, honesty, and perspective open doors that pressure never will. That insight became Positivity Troll—a way to challenge negativity and nonsense without shaming people or pretending life is easy.
Today, my work sits at the intersection of clarity, energy, and people-first systems. I help thoughtful, exhausted people design lives and work that actually hold up—without hype, without guilt, and without burning themselves out trying to be “better.”
I’m not here to motivate you
I’m here to help you think clearly, protect your energy, and move forward in a way you can sustain.
That’s the work.
That’s the standard.
